Baker Hughes BKR has released this week's rig counts. Here's the numbers for Friday May 9th, 2026.....

Baker Hughes Rig Count: up 1 to 548 Rigs
U.S. Rig Count is up 1 from last week to 548 with oil rigs up 2 to 410, gas rigs down 1 to 129 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 9. U.S. Rig Count is down 30 rigs from last year's count of 578 with oil rigs down 57, gas rigs up 21 and miscellaneous rigs up 6. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 1 to 18, up 7 year over year.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada is up 1 to 124 Rigs
Canada Rig Count is up 1 from last week to 124 with oil rigs up 3 to 77, gas rigs down 2 to 47 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 0. Canada Rig Count is up 10 from last year's count of 114 with oil rigs up 9, gas rigs up 1 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
